Rendang With Potato

Rendang

Been to Indonesia and ate Rendang ? If you miss this spicy food, try to cook for just yourself. I'll make it simple (not too spicy) for you.


Ingredients
1/4 kg beef, cubed
1 potato, cubed (optional) 
100 ml coconut milk
3 shallots
1 garlic
5 red peppers or red chillies (due to your taste)
1/2 cm (or less) ginger 
1/2 cm (or less) lengkuas/blue ginger/galanga/galangal)
1 lime leaf
1 turmeric leaf
1 lemon grass
Salt 
Sugar (due to your taste)


Directions
1. Shallots, garlic, red peppers and ginger, blended and put into a pan.
2. Add the beef, coconut milk, blue ginger, lime & turmeric leaf, lemon grass, salt and a bit sugar over low medium heat
3. Stir frequently untill the meat really tender.
4. Add potate and stir untill  the gravy dry up
5. Serve hot with rice
